1. LANGUAGE TEACHER (MANDARIN LANGUAGE) DG41
Academic qualifications:
- Minimum Grade C in the subject Bahasa Melayu in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)
- Minimum Grade C6 in Bahasa Inggeris in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or minimum Band 3 in Malaysia University English Test (MUET)
- Bachelor’s degree (CGPA 3.0) in Mandarin Language or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Mandarin language
- Posses Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) Certificate
- Good command in Mandarin Language
- Adaptable and flexible
- Willingness to communicate in intercultural settings
- Planning, preparing and conducting Mandarin language classes at A1-B1 levels between 15-24 hours per week.
- Managing administrative tasks and documentations related to teaching and other academic matters
- Preparing and administering assessments to evaluate students’ learning progress
- Participating in the promotional events of the course.
- Attending all required meetings, gatherings, events organised by UMP and external organisations as approved by UMP.
- Organising and/or participating in any community related activities as approved by UMP.
- Conducting language-related training, services and consultancy as approved by UMP.
- Arranging cultural events and educational trips related to Mandarin language and culture as approved by UMP.
- Carrying out, performing and completing other tasks as required by UMP from time to time.
- Regular working hours is 40 hours per week (record of attendance is compulsory)
Academic qualifications:
- Minimum Grade C in the subject Bahasa Melayu in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)
- Bachelor’s degree (CGPA 3.0) in a relevant field recognized by the Government from a local institution of higher learning or a qualification recognized as equivalent
- Master's Degree in a relevant field recognized by the Government from a local institution of higher learning or a qualification recognized as equivalent.; or / and
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in a related field recognized by the Government from a local institution of higher learning or a qualification recognized as equivalent
- Posses English Language Certification
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Band 7 or:
- any Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- (CEFR) aligned test - C1
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in English language and the related filed of expertise

- Has interpersonal communication and presentation skills as well as a deep interest towards teaching, research, and publishing.
- Have skills in using technology software in teaching and research.
- Having additional qualifications such as translation will be given priority
- Have administrative experience (i.e. management).
- Experienced in conducting training (i.e. speaker/ instructor, facilitator, manager)
- Candidates need to have experience in building development modules (i.e. need analyzes, module building)
- Candidates must have been involved in short/long term research.
- Preference to candidates who have a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.).
- Candidates who are currently pursuing PhD is also invited to apply
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT
1 year (contract). Extension for another contract of service based on performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

OR
ii. Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in German language with a minimum of C1 of CEFR in German language
Specific knowledge:
Regular working hours is 40 hours per week (record of attendance is compulsory)

- Experience and interest in education-oriented research, e.g. action research
- Experience in working in public service in Malaysia
- Planning, preparing and conducting German language classes at A1-C1 levels between 15-24 hours per week.
- Managing administrative tasks and documentations related to teaching and other academic matters
- Preparing and administering assessments to evaluate students’ learning progress
- Ensuring student achievement of specific results in any of the German language tests, e.g. TELC or TestDaF or equivalent, as required by the respective programmes and university partners
- Participating in the promotional events of the dual degree programmes.
- Attending all required meetings, gatherings, events organised by UMP and external organisations as approved by UMP.
- Organising and/or participating in any community related activities as approved by UMP.
- Conducting language-related training, services and consultancy as approved by UMP.
- Arranging cultural events and educational trips related to German language and culture as approved by UMP
- Carrying out, performing and completing other tasks as required by UMP from time to time

BENEFITS
- The Officer shall be eligible for Annual Leave at the rate of 25 days per year of service. Annual Leave must be taken in the year, which it accrues, and such leave must be taken before the expiry of the contract.
- The Officer is responsible to prescribe own health insurance.
- The Officer is entitled to get free treatment at the University’s Clinic (on campus) and a maximum of RM50 per treatment at Panel Clinics registered with the university.
- If the Officer resides outside Malaysia at the time of appointment, s/he is granted an economic class returns airfare ticket for him/herself only
- On arrival in Malaysia, the Officer is granted an accommodation in the transit house for a period of not exceeding one (1) month
- This offer is also subject to obtaining the Employment Pass from the Government of Malaysia. However, the Officer is responsible to pay for the Multiple Entry Visa and other charges as required by the Immigration Department for non-citizen
